Today’s mail: the first issue of a gift subscription to Geez Magazine, gifted to me to mark the successful defense of my doctoral dissertation. Laurel is a very dear friend of mine—we were graduate students together at Boston College, and we even lived together in an intentional community—and I’m grateful for her thoughtful gift here.
